Everyone please accept my sincerest wishes for a wonderful Christmas, and my thanks for all the support and enthusiasm in the past year. I’d also like to send extra-special holiday wishes to the great team that helps keep this web site humming: webmaster John Ekdahl, membership card designer Scott Turner, “Collector’s Corner” columnist Brinke Guthrie, weekend contributors Rick Pearson, Jim Vilk, and Terry Duroncelet, and of course Phil Hecken, the greatest bench coach a skipper could ever have. A healthy and a happy to one and all. Peace. ”” Paul

To everyone, have a Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy Kwanzaa, Happy Hearth’s Warming, whatever you celebrate. Have fun, stay safe, and try not to forget the batteries ;)

Next year I need to get me a Tree-Hat for Hearth’s Warming.

    Merry December Holiday ya’ll.

/only 3 more months till Winter Wrap Up…

That’s awesome, George. Thank you and a Merry Christmas to you and yours as well.

Merry Christmas to all. Peace on Earth, Good will toward men and Snazzy Stirrups all around.

Strange, isn’t it? Each man’s life touches so many other lives. When he isn’t around he leaves an awful hole, doesn’t he?

    Peace all!

    Phil

At least the Pop Warner Championship is on espn2 at 11:30 am CST, anyway.

Where’s the Blue-Gray Game when we need it?

    Ah, well…things change.

Cool, never won anything from UW before, thanks Paul! Nor sure what I will do with the Loons decal set yet, but if I come up with anything interesting, I will let everyone know.

Did you know a Flash Gordon scene (among others) had been deleted from A CHRISTMAS STORY?

    I didn’t until just now.

Scroll down for a still from the scene…

(I hesitate to post this, lest designers at Nike, Adidas, Reebok or UA take football inspiration from Flash’s outfit.)

I think I speak for all of us non-winners when I say: “BAH!”

But seriously, happy holidays, everyone. And if Kurt Edwards sends me his address as well, I’ll send along the companion piece to Hockey Tales, Teeny Bikini #5.

Not directly Uni-related, but I think we will find it interesting and perhaps can add to the piece.

    Top cameos of baseball players.

The manager of that team has to be Sparky Anderson. He had a great cameo on WKRP in Cincinnati. Where he promptly gets fired for the second time in Cincy.

The additions here are one of the things that makes Uniwatch great. Expanding knowledge of readers.

I’m bemused by the two dorks whose new middle names feature rival characters. The one guy going for Balrog instead of, say, Saruman or Sauron, got to sneak in a bonus Street Fighter reference due to the shared name. (Of course, Sauron would’ve worked as a second X-Men reference, as the comic book character took his name from Tolkien’s.)

    Merry Christmas everybody!!
I see Dallas has gold trim on their name on the front and names on the back for their championship ceremony.

My kids got me an a $300 polyester Jets jersey. Awesome! And my brothers all enjoyed getting a copy of Old Timey Hockey tales by Mr Ullman. Thanks!
