Ho-Ho-Hosiery

Bad_Santa_by_zairia.jpg

Santa knows that the best Christmas stockings aren’t the ones being hung by the chimney with care. He also knows stockings aren’t the only things worth stuffing, and that there are more places to go down than just the chimney, if you get my drift.

Anyway: Even if you haven’t gotten any mistletoe action this holiday season, you may be getting the next best thing, namely a Michelle Ryan video compilation one of the prizes in the annual Uni Watch reader-appreciation giveaway. Here are the 33 winners and the prizes they’ve won:

Everyone please accept my sincerest wishes for a wonderful Christmas, and my thanks for all the support and enthusiasm in the past year. I’d also like to send extra-special holiday wishes to the team that helps me out with this web site: webmaster John Ekdahl, membership card designer Scott Turner, “Collector’s Corner” columnist Brinke Guthrie, proofreader Matt Dubno, Stirrups Club honcho Robert Marshall, and of course Phil Hecken, the greatest bench coach a skipper could ever have. Hope Santa stopped groping the maid long enough to bring each of you exactly what you wished for. Peace. — Paul

    If there are kids in your home this morning, I hope they’re having a great time. Christmas morning with little kids around is a treat to be enjoyed. It’s gone so quickly. Treasure it.

    Next best thing: Spent Christmas Eve on skype with my sister-in-law in Minnesota seeing their newborn son for the first time. Less than two weeks old and he’s already holding his head up strong and doing the whole obsessive-gripping-anything-in-reach thing with his little fingers. Free video chatting with distant family members: What a world!

    Let’s see. I have the Yule Log showing on TV- a local station just runs video of a fireplace roaring. (Will switch to ‘A Christmas Story’ later. FRA-GEEL-LAY.) Feeding the backyard squirrels. Waiting for Mrs. Brinke to wake up.

    Presents idling in neutral under the tree. (6 Giants SGA bobbleheads c/o of eBay and a nice Majestic Giants WS Champions hoodie!)

    Most of all, I wish everyone a Merry Christmas.

    ah – the WPIX Yule Log..THE best holiday tradition on TV ever! There such an uproar a while back when they actually CANCELLED it. until somebody realized it was as a promotion as there is! link

    Merry Christmas All!

    I’ll consider it a late Chanukah Present. But yeah, I guess Chinese food qualifies as having a good Christmas, so thanks. You have a good one too.

    I received a curling stone for Christmas last night. Well, not a real one. It’s a miniature from Beneagles Scotch Whisky (empty!). It goes about 3 inches across and 3 inches high including the handle. They also make other minis which I am now collecting. Pic here:

    Merry Christmas to everyone on UW, especially Paul and Phil (but not to diminish the many contributions from the rest of the UW team). And of course to the many posters – I have not posted much this past year but I remain a loyal (daily) reader. I remain amazed at the depth of knowledge and passion of this truly unique group. It was a pleasure, and highlight of 2010, to meet many of you at the Deep Freeze last winter. As Paul said…Peace.

    Love the Astro-Bluebonnet Bowl – but always was a bit soured on it after tulane got toasted by Houiston & D.C. Nobles 47-7 back in 1973. Still like the name and the hyphen!

    I’m enjoying a white Christmas in NW Georgia.

    This is the first measurable snowfall here in Christmas since 1882. My mom is up here from SE GA and she has only seen snow on Christmas once in her nearly 70 years on Earth.

    I think the Aaron Rodgers jersey I got is a counterfeit, but it’s one of the best counterfeits I’ve seen. His name is spelled right it’s got sewn-on numbers instead of screen printed.

    I bought a LaDainian Tomlinson jersey a few years ago that also had the numbers sewn on instead of screen printed and it was totally legit

    Please choose as many of the following as you like:

    Merry Christmas;
    Feliz Navidad;
    Froehliche Weinachten;
    Joyeux Noel;
    Glaedigle Jul;
    Happy (belated) Hannukah;
    Peace on Earth;
    Goodwill to Men;
    Best Festivus Evah.

    Merry Christmas from Findlay, Ohio. I pray everyone has a blessed holiday and a safe and happy new year! (:

    Happiest of Holidays to Paul, Phil, John, the rest of the UW crew & of course all who add their insights via the comments section. Y’all continue to amaze & impress, & our daily lives are all a bit more joyful because of what you do here. Wishing you peace & joy, love & laughter today, tomorrow & all the days that follow.

    Ricko, yep kids jumping on your bed begging to go downstairs…hard to beat.

    Powers, give the toy back to the kid.

    Brinke, nice heads.

    6 hours down, only 11 to go and our I-70 caravan will be skiing in Keystone. Wish this novice luck as I do tend to overestimate my abilities.
    Merry Christmas Paul and the gang! Oh, and you too Phil.
