Got a note the other day from Robert Harvell, the auction director at GUU Auctions. “Over the years I’ve collected vintage football photos, circa 1950-1970, from every corner of the net (and from mags, DVDs, newspaper clippings, etc.),” he wrote. “All told, these photos currently total around 80,000-100,000 and reside on my hard . . . → Read More: The Robert Harvell Files, Vol. 1

As we all know, MLB teams aren’t very good when it comes to logo consistency. Among the problems: The Tigers use two very distinct “D” letterforms on their cap and their jersey; until recently the A’s used different logos on their caps and helmets (a practice that stopped as a direct result of . . . → Read More: Consistently Inconsistent

One of my great pleasures in serving at Paul’s Bench Coach is getting to meet (either in person or through the magic of the Interwebs) many of UW’s fantastic contributors, many of whom either assist me with my weekend duties, or who provide either a “graphic” or a tweak or . . . → Read More: Going Green xo Blue

A couple weeks ago, in the comments section, reader Giancarlo raised an extremely germane comment/suggestion/question; to wit: What teams got their uniform exactly right from their inception, so much so that every subesquent uniform iteration that followed has failed to replicate the superior first effort for that team. . . . → Read More: Getting It Right The First Time
